A Case of Multiple Myeloma Associated with Osteosclerosis

Abstract

|
We describe a case of multiple myeloma, kappa light chain type, of which osteoblastic lesions are shown on ribs, vertebrae, femur, and iliac bones rather than osteolysis. Osteosclerotic myeloma is a very rare lesion and fewer than 3% of myeloma is associated with bone sclerosis. The sclerosing form of myeloma may be generalized and thus easily confused with osteopetrosis or metastatic disease. The authors report this case with review of literature.
